Events

C3 has a variety of virtual and on-campus events throughout the year for our students. Events listed on this page are open to current C3 students only. (Exceptions: FAFSA Day and NC State Open House are open to the public.)

Keep track of all upcoming events by downloading our printable events calendar. Registration is required for most events. To register, click on the registration button for each event below.

Virtual Events

We host our virtual events through Zoom. To use Zoom, go to https://ncsu.zoom.us/signin. If you are already authenticated through Shibboleth, then the link will take you directly to your Zoom account page with no additional login required. Meeting links to Zoom workshops will be emailed to students who have RSVP’d. To access the meeting, click the link to join the Zoom room.

Transportation

It is the student’s responsibility to arrange their own transportation to on-campus events. Some community colleges may assist with travel arrangements. Please contact your C3 liaison for more information regarding transportation for specific events.

Accommodation Requests

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, NC State will honor requests for reasonable accommodations made by individuals with disabilities. Wolfpack Welcome Week

August 20, 2019 – 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – On-Campus

C3 students who have transferred to NC State for the Fall 2019 semester are encouraged to participate in special events designed to welcome transfer students to campus.

September 2019

Community College On-Campus Advising Sessions – TBD

Be on the lookout for when NC State advisors will be on your campus. Advising sessions will take place throughout September. If you are unable to meet with us on the day we are scheduled to be on your community college campus, please let us know and we can work on an alternative method.

NC State Campus Visit – Financial Aid Info Session, Dairy Tour, and Ice Cream

September 20, 2019 – 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – On-Campus

C3 students can attend a Financial Aid information session presented by the Financial Aid staff. At the end of the session, there will be time for questions. Students will also participate in a tour of the NC State Dairy. Howling Cow, NC State’s ice cream, is made on campus in the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences Feldmeir Dairy Processing Lab in Schaub Hall. All of the ice cream is made with fresh milk and cream from the Raleigh farm. At the end of the tour, students will get to enjoy a cup of Howling Cow ice cream.

Engineering Workshop – “So You Think You Want to be an Engineer”

September 25, 2019 – 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Virtual

If you are considering a career in engineering, this event is for you! Dr. Javon Adams, from the College of Engineering, will be hosting a Zoom workshop, “So You Think You Want to be an Engineer.” In this workshop, Dr. Adams will highlight how to know if engineering is right for you and how to align majors with career aspirations. It is highly recommended that students who want to major in engineering should attend this workshop.

Advising Workshop: “In the Home Stretch – Succeeding at NC State”

October 15, 2019 – 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Virtual

Melanie Cruz from the Department of Academic and Student Affairs will be hosting a Zoom workshop entitled, “In the Home Stretch – Succeeding at NC State.” This workshop is geared towards students who will be transferring to NC State in the Spring of 2020. The workshop will include all the tips and tricks you need to know to be successful at NC State. It is highly recommended that students attend this workshop. It will be offered twice a semester. Students need to participate in the workshop only once in the semester prior to transferring to NC State.

NC State Open House

October 19, 2019 – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – On-Campus

University Open House 2019 is your opportunity to learn more about what NC State has to offer. There is no formal schedule, so you can learn about everything that interests you on campus. You may attend academic sessions, visit the info fair, experience dining, visit the Bookstore, tour residence halls, and tour the library. FAFSA Day

October 26, 2019 – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – On-Campus

If you are planning to transfer to NC State in Fall 2020, consider attending FAFSA Day. FAFSA Day is an opportunity to sit down with Financial Aid counselors to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). NC State will be hosting FAFSA Day on October 26th at the McKimmon Center. Also, note that your community college may be a host site. You can check by visiting https://www.cfnc.org/fafsaday.

Centennial Campus Overview and Career Development Workshop

March 27, 2020 – 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – On-Campus

Students are invited to join us for tours of Wilson College of Textiles and select College of Engineering facilities/labs. In addition to the tours, students will attend a career workshop hosted by the Career Development Center here at NC State. The workshop will challenge you to think critically about your future aspirations.
